NATIONAL REPORT—Hotel brands are opening out West. Recent activity includes a brand debut in Oregon, plus expansions in Seattle, Colorado and California:
WoodSpring Suites Debuts First Hotel in Oregon
Choice Hotels International Inc. in collaboration with Brookwood Hotels have opened the WoodSpring Suites Portland North Gresham. The new hotel is the brand’s 250th and the first to open in the state of Oregon. The four-story, 122-room WoodSpring hotel is located in Portland’s Gresham neighborhood, with access to downtown Portland attractions and Portland International Airport. The new construction hotel is purpose-built for the needs of extended-stay travelers.
The Hotel Groups Opens Seattle Property
The Hotel Group has opened The Sound Hotel Seattle Belltown, A Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The hotel has 142 guestrooms, views of the downtown Seattle skyline and Puget Sound, a ground-level restaurant Currant Bistro with a grab & go coffee bar, as well as meetings and special event space. The Sound Hotel has access Seattle attractions, coffee houses, nightclubs, dining, is adjacent to the Cinerama and close to the Space Needle, Pike Place Market and the Amazon Spheres.
Courtyard by Marriott Loveland/Fort Collins Comes to Colorado
Courtyard by Marriott Loveland/Fort Collins is now open in Loveland, CO. The 102-room hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Stonebridge Companies of Denver. The project marks Stonebridge’s fourth property located in Loveland. Stonebridge Companies, a privately owned hotel owner, operator and developer, has partnered with Colorado based real estate investor and developer McWhinney to deliver the hotel. The four-story hotel has an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, guest laundry and two meeting rooms with catering options available.
SureStay Expands Brand in Hollister, CA
The SureStay Hotel by Best Western Hollister has opened its doors in Hollister, CA. The hotel has 42 guestrooms, an outdoor pool, complimentary hot breakfast and free WiFi. The hotel is close to Pinnacles National Park, Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area and several wineries, also nearby are the areas of Monterey Bay, Carmel by the Sea, San Jose and Salinas.
