Who’s Cooking? Hotels Name New Chefs

INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Properties around the globe have named new leaders for their culinary efforts. Here’s a look:

Elinan New Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa

The Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa has hired Daniel Elinan as its new executive chef.

Elinan previously opened The Cavalier Hotel, a luxury Autograph by Marriott property with three outlets—Becca, Hunt Room and The Raleigh Room—in early 2018. Shortly after opening, he earned an immediate four-diamond rating for the Hotel’s prized dining venue Becca.

Prior stints included executive chef positions at the Hilton Virginia Beach, Omni Shoreham Hotel Washington DC, Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa and Grand Hyatt San Francisco. He was also executive chef at Primetime Restaurants in Budapest, Hungary, Carlo IV & New York Palace, Boscolo Hotels in Prague and Budapest, as well as the chef de cuisine for Shangri-La Hotels in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate Appoints Kaduru

Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate has named Ramesh Kaduru executive chef.

In his new role, Kaduru oversees the culinary operations at the resort’s nine dining experiences.

He joins Omni Hotels & Resorts after a tenure with The Ritz-Carlton Company, most recently as executive chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta. Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta, he was executive chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Grove and led culinary teams at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach and The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples. He also held positions at The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba and The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain.

Hell’s Kitchen Finalist Named Executive Chef at The Sarasota Modern

Jennifer Salhoff, a finalist on the 13th season of reality chef competition show Hell’s Kitchen, was named executive chef at The Sarasota Modern in Florida.

Salhoff brings 20 years of culinary experience to property—the newest boutique hotel in the area—having most recently served as executive chef at Le Meridien Hotel in Philadelphia. She made her debut into the F&B industry after studying industrial design technology at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining The Modern team, held leadership positions at Cubre Libre, Restaurant Cerise and M Restaurant at the Morris House Hotel in Philadelphia.

St. Regis Bangkok Appoints Miller as Executive Chef

The St. Regis Bangkok has appointed Christopher Miller as executive chef.

An award-winning chef, he brings more than 20 years of F&B experience from restaurants and five-star hotels and resorts throughout Australia, Central America, Singapore, Indonesia, The Maldives and Thailand.

Miller spent the first eight years of his career as a chef in fine dining restaurants of Sydney, most notably working with chef Neil Perry at Wockpool and Rockpool. He went on to spend 15 years with Como Hotels and Resorts. He was also executive chef for the pre-opening team at Como Maalifushi and managed Como Hotels and Resorts’ Singapore Grand Prix event for four years, overseeing more than 21,000 plates of food served by a team of more than 30 international chefs. Other career highlights include Sous Chef at Parrot Cay Resort and Como Shambhala Retreat in Turks and Caicos, executive chef at Just Steak in Singapore, executive chef at UMA Ubud in Bali, and executive chef for the pre-opening team at The Bangkok Edition.

Malloy Appointed Executive Chef at Rose Hotel

The Rose Hotel Chicago/O’Hare, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, which recently opened its doors, has welcomed Nicholas Malloy as the executive chef of the property.

Malloy’s career began in 2009, when he graduated from Kendall College Culinary School and joined the team at 545 North Bar and Grill. From there, he become lead supervisor of the banquet culinary team at the JW Marriott Chicago. In 2014, he joined the Chicago Marriott Naperville as a sous chef, where he became the leader in designing the menu for its Artisan Table.
