INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Vacation ownership is heating up with partnerships and new resort destinations. Here’s the recent news from Interval International, Grupo Hospedar, Lifestyle Luxury Vacation Club and Marriott Vacations Worldwide:
Interval International and Grupo Hospedar Sign Exclusive, Multi-Site Affiliation Agreement
Interval International has entered into an exclusive multi-site affiliation agreement with Grupo Hospedar in Brazil. The contract includes two existing fractional resorts on the northeast coast, Encantos de Itaperapuã and Paraíso das Dunas, as well as all future properties developed or acquired during the term of the agreement.
Encantos de Itaperapuã is located in Porto Seguro, Bahia, a popular vacation destination. Paraíso das Dunas is situated in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. Close to Taperapuã Beach, Encantos de Itaperapuã has 49 units, on-site amenities, including a restaurant, two outdoor swimming pools, a fitness room and a children’s recreation area. Nearby Porto Seguro features additional dining and shopping options, nightlife along the Passarela do Álcool promenade.
Lifestyle Luxury Vacation Club in Dubai Selects Interval International
Interval International has revealed the affiliation of Lifestyle Luxury Vacation Club in Dubai, a leisure and business hub in the United Arab Emirates. The club includes four resort properties. Lifestyle Luxury Vacation Club is a joint venture between Lifestyle Properties Group in the Dominican Republic and Dubai-based Al Habtoor Group. Club members have access to accommodations at all four properties, along with benefits:
- On Jumeirah Beach in the Dubai Marina district, the 446-unit Habtoor Grand Resort has several swimming pools, a beach club, a full-service spa, nine restaurants and bars and a nightclub.
- The V Hotel Dubai is in Habtoor City, an entertainment complex with 23 multicultural restaurants and bars and two nightclubs. The 345-room hotel has swimming pools, multiple restaurants, spas and a gym.
- Metropolitan Hotel Dubai is located in the heart of Dubai, close to Jumeirah Beach and The Mall of the Emirates. The 338-unit resort has restaurants and bars, a rooftop swimming pool and fitness facilities.
- Al Habtoor Polo Resort is the centerpiece of a 138-acre equestrian community close to downtown Dubai. Facilities include a Polo Academy, Riding School, 520 stables, and two international-sized arenas, a swimming pool, tennis courts, golf driving range, gym, spa and six restaurants and bars within the resort. Club members have access to The Royal Villas at Al Habtoor Polo Resort with 23 four-room villas.
Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation Reveals Project in Waikiki, HI
Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation has plans to bring a new Hawaiian vacation ownership destination to its owners and guests. The new resort in Waikiki is expected to open in late 2022.
The company anticipates developing a seven-story vacation ownership property in Waikiki, on the south shore of Honolulu, with two floors of retail and approximately 110 guestrooms, featuring a mix of one-bedroom and studio units. Proposed rooftop amenities include a pool, fitness center and bar. A 10,000-sq.-ft. sales gallery will also be on site.
