The membership-affiliated hotel chain is expected to be the most cost-effective reflagging opportunity in the industry today, according to the company. The brand creates an affordable option for hotel owners by offering a friendly conversion product. Advantages include a lower fee structure, sensible PIP requirements, no long term commitment and a systematic analysis of potential value-added options.
The membership structure offered by Urban Park Hotels is a more realistic and affordable alternative to the larger hotel franchise opportunities existing today, according to the company. Typical franchise groups use a pricing structure based on the property’s revenue and require a long-term commitment. The brand is currently looking at hotels with 25 to 85 rooms, which will include both independents and franchise properties looking for an easy and fast conversion.
The Urban Park Hotel Collection has established two flagship brands, Urban Park Hotel & Suites and Urban Park Hotel Express. The initial one-time startup fee for either flag is $2,500, and then $10 per room per month (not per reservation). Owners who are good operators but can’t afford the initial fees and the ongoing costs associated with other hotel franchises would be great candidates for this brand.
