Now Open: Historic NYC Property; Equine-Themed Hotel; More…

NATIONAL REPORT—A New York City property with a hip speakeasy lounge, an equine-themed boutique hotel in Northern California, and a dual-branded property in Colorado are among the openings this week.

The James New York – NoMad

With the opening of restaurant Scarpetta’s new flagship location and the introduction of The Seville social cocktail lounge, The James New York – NoMad is now  fully open.

The fully renovated property, developed by GFI Development Company, has 360 guestrooms, including 28 suites, two penthouses and 5,000 sq. ft. of meeting spaces designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen.

With a nod to the history of the NoMad neighborhood as the birthplace of the Manhattan cocktail and the Beaux-Arts style building that originally opened as the historic landmarked Hotel Seville in 1904, The Seville cocktail lounge is a new concept by LDV Hospitality. An evolution of the speakeasy suite in the former hotel, The Seville is a social cocktail lounge curated to serve as a hideaway in the traditions of Prohibition-era NoMad, which was home to many famed speakeasies.

The James offers an array of boutique hotel rooms including queen and king deluxe guestrooms, King Jimmy Suites and King James Suites. Jimmy Suites offer separate living and sleeping rooms, as well as two full bathrooms. James Suites offer customizable layouts with a large living room with a pullout sofa, separate bedrooms and spacious bathrooms. The penthouse suites feature residentially designed living rooms including space to dine or entertain, separate from the master bedrooms, as well as bathrooms with large tubs.

The Murieta Inn and Spa

The Murieta Inn and Spa in Rancho Murieta, CA, is a newly constructed, four-story, luxury boutique hotel.

Managed by Marcus Hotels & Resorts, the hotel includes a selection of 83 rooms and suites. Amenities include dining at The Gate restaurant and bar, a full-service spa and salon at The Cupola, a pool area and up to 15,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.

Designed by Perkins Williams & Cotterill, the property is the brainchild of Carol Anderson Ward, owner of the nearby Murieta Equestrian Center. In addition to heritage pieces hand-selected by Ward, equestrian-themed furniture and art—procured by Cares & Whoas, a boutique store that benefits the West Coast Equine Foundation—are incorporated throughout the property. Handcrafted, custom woodwork and rustic metal pieces by Cumberland Ironworks Inc. are also highlighted across the property and grounds.

The Residence Inn/Fairfield Inn & Suites Boulder Broomfield/Interlocken

Dual-brand property The Residence Inn/Fairfield Inn & Suites Boulder Broomfield/Interlocken is now open in Broomfield, CO. The property was developed by Bedford Lodging and is managed by Aimbridge Hospitality.

These properties will be the first in the U.S. to feature the new room decor schemes for Fairfield Inn & Suites (Modern Calm) and Residence Inn (Neuhaus Scheme). The four-story, 212-room hotel will have one side composed of the Residence Inn and the other side the Fairfield Inn & Suites. The two brands are brought together by a centralized lobby bar, library lounge, theater room, fitness center and swimming pool. Guest suites on the Residence Inn side offer full kitchens, workspace areas and upscale bathrooms, while guests staying on the Fairfield Inn & Suites side will enjoy the enhanced amenities the dual-branded hotel will provide.

The interior design for the hotel offers a mountain lodge theme dictated by the area’s natural surroundings interpreted through use of natural wood, chiseled limestone and copper accents. Feature art walls bring the outside in through abstract portrayals of the surrounding landscape, while soft modern furniture styles in a diverse color palette are inspired by the native grasses.
