NATIONAL REPORT—Properties have changed hands in Florida and Alabama. Here’s a look:

Waramaug Acquires Castle Hotel, Autograph Collection

Waramaug Hospitality has acquired the Castle Hotel, Autograph Collection, located in Orlando, FL.

The 214-room lifestyle property, part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott, has 8,400 sq. ft. of meeting space comprising seven rooms, terraces and gardens, an outdoor swimming pool with whirlpool spa tub, upscale dining, business center, fitness center, and two “sky terraces” that overlook Orlando’s nightly theme park fireworks shows.

The property is located along International Drive close to the Orange County Convention Center, Wheel at Icon Park, Pointe Orlando, as well as Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld and Walt Disney World. Universal’s newest theme park, Epic Universe, currently scheduled to open in 2023, is located across the street from the hotel.

The property will continue to be managed by Schulte Hospitality Group.

Holiday Inn Mobile Sold

Full-service hotel advisory firm Mumford Company has completed the sale of the Holiday Inn Mobile – Airport, located in Mobile, AL.

The seller is an operator, developer and investor in premium-branded, select- and limited-service, and extended-stay hotel assets. The buyer is a Mobile-based developer with multiple properties along the Gulf Coast. This was the second asset Mumford has sold for this seller in the last year and its fifth transaction with the purchaser.

The four-story, 97-room property is located near the airport and Springdale Mall and The Shoppes at Bel Air. It is extremely close to Airbus’ only U.S. manufacturing facility, the University of South Alabama, Port of Mobile and the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.
