Two Hotels Open in NYC; More in the Northeast…

NATIONAL REPORT—The Northeast is seeing activity with recent property openings. Hotels have set roots in New York City; Pittsburgh; and Natick, MA:

Hyatt Place Opens its Doors in Times Square
Hyatt Place New York City/Times Square is officially open. With 520 guestrooms, Hyatt Place New York/Times Square is located in the Times Square/Broadway district, close to restaurants and theaters, both Port Authority Bus Terminal and Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and the Empire State Building, among other attractions. The property has food and beverage offerings, more than 960 sq. ft. of meeting and event space and a fitness center.

The Kixby Hotel Debuts in Herald Square
Kixby is now open, reclaiming the 1901 building that housed a legendary luxury hotel, the Collingwood, a century ago. With public spaces designed by Rockwell Group, Kixby will bring sophistication and history to Herald Square in Midtown, according to the company. The hotel has 195 guestrooms, flagship restaurant Black Tap, a rooftop bar and a fitness center.

Even Hotels Expands to Pittsburgh
Even Hotels, the IHG brand built with wellness at its core, has opened Even Hotel Pittsburgh Downtown. The hotel is located in the Kaufmann’s Grand on Fifth, Pittsburgh’s iconic building formerly known as Kaufmann’s Department Store. The property has 160 guestrooms, food and beverage options, a fitness studio, 3,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and a 5,000-sq.-ft. indoor atrium.

Residence Inn by Marriott Moves into Natick, MA
The 136-suite Residence Inn by Marriott in Natick, MA, is now open. The all-suite Residence Inn Boston Natick will operate as a Marriott franchise, jointly owned by XSS Hotels of Hooksett, NH, and National Development of Newton Lower Falls, MA, and managed by Colwen Management Inc. of Portsmouth, NH. Located across from the Natick Mall and close to downtown Boston, the Residence Inn Boston Natick offers access to Wellesley College, Framingham State University and Babson College. The property has a 3,800-sq.-ft. event center, guest laundry, a business library fitness center and food and beverage outlets.
