INTERNATIONAL REPORT—From a Trump Hotels property in the heart of New York to a JW Marriott in Hong Kong, hotels here and abroad are updating rooms, common spaces and programming. Here’s a closer look:
Trump Hotel Gets an Update in New York
Trump International Hotel & Tower New York is renovating its guestrooms, suites and common spaces.
“We are very proud of what the hotel has achieved and provided for travelers around the world since its opening 20 years ago. This renovation further affirms our commitment to maintain our status as one of the elite luxury hotels in the city and around the world,” said Prince A. Sanders, general manager of the hotel. “The renovation is underway and we anticipate completion by September.”
Total Resource Associates Inc. found inspiration in the hotel’s Central Park views and its proximity to Manhattan’s Columbus Circle. The renovation includes a total transformation of the hallways, including carpeting, a new color palette and lighting, guestrooms and suites.
JW Marriott Hong Kong to Renovate Rooms
JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong is set to undergo a renovation to its 608 guestrooms, expected to be completed by the end of September. All rooms have seven-layer mattresses plus six choices of pillows. The hotel will also become a non-smoking hotel.
On top of the original Dynasty Suite and Admiralty Suite, two new suites are set to be added, the Hong Kong Suite and Bauhinia Suite.
Unveiled in June, the hotel’s new executive lounge has also undergone a transformation. The lounge has an industrial and sleek design with patina dark flooring and shelving with exposed brick and black steel. Catering up to 136 guests, The lounge provides services and facilities including two meeting rooms, coffee and wine stations and more.
SLS Revamps Rooms and Guest Experience
The SLS Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Beverly Hills in Los Angeles has completed a redesign of its 234 guestrooms and 63 suites and guest experience ahead of its decade milestone in November. Locally inspired guest programming, revamped garden terrace events space, as well as culinary and cocktail experiences round out SLS Beverly Hills’ 10-year evolution.
Country Inn & Suites Updates in Kansas
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Wichita East, KS has opened. The hotel recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation with the brand’s latest design, which includes modern interiors and furnishings. The hotel has 99 guestrooms and suites.
In addition, the hotel has an on-site business center, Read It & Return Lending Library, fitness center and newly designed outdoor pool and veranda with a fire pit.
