NEW YORK—tommie Hotels, a new micro lifestyle hotel brand from Commune Hotels & Resorts, has appointed three industry executives to tommie Hudson Square’s management team. The team to debut tommie’s first New York City hotel, tommie Hudson Square, in early 2016 includes Javier Egipciaco, general manager; Rosa Gutierrez, director of sales & marketing; and Jason Enany, director of food, beverage & entertainment.
With 18 years of experience in New York’s hospitality industry, Egipciaco will oversee day-to-day operations of the 325-room hotel. Prior to joining tommie Hudson Square, Egipciaco was responsible for overseeing strategic operations as the general manager for the NU Hotel, a Hersha Hospitality property in Downtown Brooklyn.
Egipciaco took on responsibilities in developing new brand initiatives for Hersha Hospitality’s Independent Collection, with a focus on implementing action plans for newly launched and repositioned hotels in markets including Washington, DC; Boston; Santa Barbara, CA; Miami; and the Florida Keys. He has also held management positions with The GEM Hotel Group in Manhattan and The Stanhope Park Hyatt New York.
