NATIONAL REPORT—Two properties recently joined collections and another location became an IHG affiliate. Here’s what we know:
Hawaii’s Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows Joins Auberge Resorts Collection
Auberge Resorts Collection has added Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, located in Waimea, HI, to its portfolio of luxury resorts, residences and clubs. After the property undergoes an extensive redesign and revitalization, it will be reopened and rebranded as Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection. The development and ownership team is DiamondHead Land, a joint venture between San Francisco-based ProspectHill Group and Hawaii-based hotel executive Pat Fitzgerald, in partnership with a major institutional investor. The relaunch and reopening of Mauna Lani is planned for late 2019.
Sun Plaza Motel Becomes Part of By Magnuson Worldwide Collection
Magnuson Worldwide has added Sun Plaza Motel, located in Silver Springs, FL, to the new By Magnuson Worldwide Collection. The property has a seasonal outdoor pool. There is also free WiFi in public areas and free parking.
The Desmond Hotel & Conference Center Joins IHG
The family-owned and operated Desmond Hotel & Conference Center has recently joined IHG as an affiliated property. In the coming months, The Desmond Hotel & Conference Center will begin a complete renovation to encompass all areas of the hotel, including guestrooms, bathrooms, meeting facilities and public spaces, interior fixtures and lighting, business center, fitness center, a new porte cochere and main entrance.
