Three Appointments to Know

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotel Business is tracking appointments. Marcus & Millichap, Benchmark Hospitality and the San Francisco Travel Association have all made personnel changes. Here are the details:

Marcus & Millichap Hires Thierry Lessoil to Lead Newly Launched Montreal Office
Marcus & Millichap has named Thierry Lessoil regional manager of the firm’s Montreal office. He has 30 years of commercial real estate investment sales and management experience. He most recently served as a managing director with Sun Life Investment Management. Working with Lessoil in Marcus & Millichap’s Montreal office will be Mickael Chaput and Michael Dermer, founders of McGill Commercial, and investment professionals Naomi Faraj, Louis Hoppenheim and Phillipe Marcotte.

Benchmark Names New Director of Facilities for Turtle Bay Resort, Oahu
Benchmark has appointed Jackie D. Johnson, Jr. as director of facilities for Turtle Bay Resort. He was previously chief engineer for general growth properties of Honolulu, directing and managing the daily activities of mechanic and engineering staff and maintenance crews for the Ala Moana Center of Honolulu.  Prior to this appointment, he was senior operations & training program manager for the United States Navy, a position that capped his 30-year military career.

San Francisco Travel Association’s Board Names Two Roads Exec to Chair
Peter Gamez, newly appointed SVP of global sales for international lifestyle hotel company Two Roads Hospitality, has been named Chair of San Francisco Travel Association’s Board of Directors for the 2018/2019 fiscal year. The San Francisco Travel chair presides over the board of directors and the executive committee. Gamez will direct and guide policy at all meetings involving partners of San Francisco Travel, the executive committee and the board of directors. Founded in 1909, the San Francisco Travel Association is a private, not-for-profit organization that markets the city as a leisure, convention and business travel destination. With more than 1,300 partner businesses, San Francisco Travel is one of the largest membership-based tourism promotion agencies in the country.
