LOS ANGELES—The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, a longtime meeting spot for Hollywood elite and the entertainment industry, is returning to an independently managed hotel and has launched a new website.
Owners David Chang and Goodwin Gaw appointed frequent collaborator Brett Blass as CEO to lead the repositioning efforts of the newly renovated property and their new management company. “The Hollywood Roosevelt’s reputation as an iconic, one-of-a-kind lifestyle hotel has been forged with distinction in Hollywood’s history,” said Blass, “It’s an exciting time for the entire hotel team and for Los Angeles—our stunning guestroom renovation celebrates this landmark hotel’s character, charm and Hollywood roots while making us all very enthusiastic for the future ahead.”
Design firm Yabu Pushelberg led the $25-million room renovation introducing a palette showcasing subtle textures, leathers, and gray tones with persimmon-red accents; the new design maintains the integrity of the hotel’s Spanish Colonial roots.
The Hollywood Roosevelt exudes the charm and glamour of a bygone era from the Prohibition-era style cocktail lounge and hand-crafted bowling alley the Spare Room; to famed Hollywood hot spot, Teddy’s; to the incredible views from its rooftop and the Tropicana Pool, with its mass of palm trees and the renowned David Hockney pool, according to the company.
The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is now a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Lifestyle Collection, which represents premier global properties.
