The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood opens; more California debuts

Recent hotel openings in California include two hotels in Hollywood for the Godfrey and Thompson brands and the Cambria Hotel Napa Valley Silverado Trail in Northern California’s wine country.

The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood
Oxford Capital Group LLC and Oxford Hotels & Resorts LLC have opened The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood, located one block south of Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. The 220-room luxury lifestyle hotel with a number of food & beverage outlets including SoCal-centric restaurant and bar ALK; a courtyard event space with seven adjacent hospitality suites; and the 12,000-sq.-ft. I|O rooftop, featuring a 70-ft. projection mapping video wall, two bars, a swimming pool, fire pits and a water feature.

Guestrooms include oversized TVs; desks; glass and wood barns doors; and bathrooms with rain showers, brass finishes and glass doors. A select number of rooms feature a Juliette balcony opening to a private courtyard space.

Adhering to Los Angeles’ green initiatives and Oxford’s eco-friendly management philosophy, the hotel provides bike valet and bike parking; electric vehicle charging stations; solar panels on the rooftop; energy-efficient smart thermostats; and environmentally friendly hotel operations.

Cambria Hotel Napa Valley Silverado Trail
Cambria Hotels, an upscale brand franchised by Choice Hotels International Inc., has opened the Cambria Hotel Napa Valley Silverado Trail. The four-story, 90-room hotel is the brand’s fourth property in California and second among the state’s wine regions, following the opening of the Cambria Hotel Sonoma Wine Country. It is also the first of several Cambria hotels opening soon in popular destinations such as Cambria Hotel Calabasas- Malibu in Calabasas, CA, Cambria Hotel Louisville Downtown-Whiskey Row in Louisville, KY, Cambria Hotel Nashville Airport (joining the Cambria Hotel Nashville Downtown) and Cambria Hotel Austin Airport.

Hotel amenities include multi-purpose indoor and outdoor spaces, including an outdoor patio, fireplace and spa; locally inspired design decor, with “modern agrarian” elements reflecting the personality of the surrounding community, including the impact of Napa River on the formation of the Napa Valley wine country; on-site dining at Mary Elizabeth’s restaurant and bar; a 24-hour marketplace; and a fitness center.

The Cambria Hotel Napa Valley was developed by Stratus Development Partners LLC, which also recently teamed with the brand to open the Cambria Hotel Sonoma Wine Country.

Thompson Hollywood
The Thompson Hollywood, an 11-story, 190-room luxury lifestyle hotel, has opened. The property is owned by Relevant Group in collaboration with Steinberg Hart for architecture and interior design by Tara Bernerd & Partners. Ten Five Hospitality oversees food and beverage.

Guestrooms include floor-to-ceiling windows, an honor bar, Egyptian cotton linens, 55-in. smart televisions and exclusive D.S. & DURGA bath products. Amenities include two F&B concepts, the Martin Brudnizki-designed signature restaurant Mes Amis and Bar Lis rooftop lounge; a rooftop pool; and a fitness studio.

The property joins other Thompson Hotels that are slated to debut in 2021, including Thompson Savannah (Georgia), Thompson Denver, Thompson Buckhead (Georgia) and Thompson Austin.
