TARRYTOWN, NY—Tarrytown House Estate, a Destination Hotel, is offering “Snowsurance” to meetings that are booked to take place through March in order to combat the travel risks associated with winter weather.
When three or more inches of snow are forecast within three days of the event date, meeting planners can rebook their meeting within 30 days with no penalty. To further sweeten this deal, if the groundhog predicts a longer winter on Groundhog Day, the deal will be extended six more weeks from the official end of winter, until April 30, according to the hotel.
In addition to Snowsurance, up to three added perks are awarded to the group based on the number of rooms booked. One perk with 10 to 50 rooms booked; two perks with 51 to 100 rooms booked; and three perks with 101 rooms or more booked. These added benefits include: Complimentary 30-minute reception with bar and chef selection of hors d’oeuvres; one complimentary room per 30 attendees; waived private dining rentals; two drink tickets per person in Cellar 49; 10% flexible attrition 30 days out; complimentary suite upgrade for VIP (based on availability); five chef selection VIP amenities upon arrival; and 5% rebate to the master account.
