INTERNATIONAL REPORT—From Paris to California, soft-brand collections are adding to their portfolios. Here’s a look at a few:

Tapestry Collection by Hilton Unveil Plans for Iconic United Artists Tower on Music Row

Hotel Equities and Tapestry Collection by Hilton revealed plans to transform Nashville’s iconic United Artists Tower into an upscale, 185-room boutique hotel under Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand. The property, owned by Sai Ram 009 LLC, is located at 50 Music Square West in the heart of Nashville’s famed Music Row in close proximity to music titans BMI, ASCAP, SESAC, CMA and Curb Records, to name a few.

Music Row’s famed United Artists Tower was originally constructed in 1974 by two members of Elvis Presley’s backup band, The Jordanaires, and served as office and recording studio space for decades. At nine-stories tall, it remains the tallest building on Music Row, affording 360-degree views of Music City. Transformation of the 56,700-sq.-ft. building is scheduled to begin by the end of this year.

The hotel is scheduled to open its doors to guests in 2020.

The new Tapestry Collection hotel will fall into Hotel Equities’ full-service and resort division of hotels.

Ascend Collection Adds Two

The Inn at Gran View Ogdensburg has joined the Ascend Hotel Collection. Located in Ogdensburg, NY, the 46-room, family-owned-and-operated hotel is near Ottawa and Montreal, Canada. The hotel also offers access to local attractions like the Frederick Remington Art Museum, Chippewa Bay, Thousand Islands and Boldt Castle.

Top features of The Inn at Gran View Ogdensburg include the Gran View Restaurant, featuring locally inspired cuisine; Max’s Outlook, a recently added outdoor deck offering views of the St. Lawrence river; complimentary continental breakfast; a riverside swimming pool with shuffle board area and lawn games; a fitness room; guest laundry center; and two private meeting rooms and a large ballroom for weddings and formal dinners.

The Ascend Collection has also added Hotel Napa Valley. Built in 1874, the California hotel retains the historic and charming details of old-world Napa, such as stone flooring, original ancient redwood accents, and landscaping marked by old-growth fir trees.

Amenities include a complimentary nightly wine reception featuring local vineyards and homemade treats; complimentary breakfast; select rooms and suites that feature large spa tubs, walk-in showers and stone fireplaces; complimentary tea, hot cocoa, and French press coffee in the lobby; and a lounge area and a business center that is open 24 hours a day.

Curio Collection by Hilton Adds Parisian Property

Famed Parisian hotel Maison Astor Paris has joined Hilton’s Curio Collection. The hotel has a rich history with roots stemming back to the United States. John Jacob Astor IV, a member of the prominent Astor family, was born and raised in the opulence of the New Yorker’s aristocracy. Attracted by the City of Lights, he and his wife moved to the French capital and established their residence at the hotel in 1907. However, the couple did not call the residence home for long as they met their end aboard the RMS Titanic just a few years later. The legacy of this New York couple continues to positively reflect through this iconic space, according to the company.

Dressed by the Parisian Studio Marc Hertrich & Nicolas Adnet (MHNA), Maison Astor Paris is close to haute-couture shops and a short metro ride from the Eiffel Tower. The hotel’s 131 guestrooms and suites take inspiration from classic Parisian apartments, featuring large windows, French balconies and high ceilings. All rooms offer complimentary WiFi, an HDTV, workspaces and Nespresso machines. Suites offer options such as an ornamental fireplace, terrace, private bedroom, rooftop views and a duplex-style layout.

The hotel’s fine-dining restaurant, Salle à Manger, sits under a bright glass roof offering delicious French dishes made from local, organic ingredients. Guests can enjoy unique and personalized cocktails at the speakeasy-style bar. Room service is also available 24/7. The hotel offers two intimate meeting spaces, equipped with TV screens and LCD projectors. The hotel also has a 24/7 concierge service, Clef d’Or, and a 24/7 fitness center.
