NATIONAL REPORT—Across the United States, properties have opened or are nearing completion. From openings in Southern cities to new properties out West, here’s a look at new developments:
Dual-Brand Comes to Charlotte, NC
McKibbon Hospitality has opened its first dual-branded hotel, the AC Hotel and Residence Inn Charlotte City Center. The 22-story hotel tower brings 300 rooms to uptown Charlotte, NC.
McKibbon Hospitality partnered with Vision Ventures on the development, and Cleveland Construction served as the general contractor. The project brings the first AC Hotel to Charlotte. Accommodations include 184 rooms and 2,400 sq. ft. of meeting space. The Residence Inn has apartment-style accommodations with 116 rooms, a mix of studios and one- and two-bedroom suites that include full kitchens.
Fairfield Inn & Suites to Open in Crestview, FL
The 90-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Crestview, FL is scheduled to open on Sept. 11. The hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, managed by Strand Hospitality of Myrtle Beach, SC.
The Fairfield Inn & Suites Crestview offers guests access to Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Eglin Air Force Base, Northwest Florida State College, Garden City Sports Complex and Timber Creek Distillery. Additional hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, an exercise room, valet laundry service, complimentary WiFi, as well as fax and copy services, and a 390-sq.-ft. boardroom and a 624-sq.-ft. meeting room to accommodate functions of up to 45 people.
The Cambria Charleston Riverview to Come to Charleston, SC
New Castle Hotels & Resorts and RREAF Holdings with Freese Johnson Contractors of Atlanta welcome the Cambria Charleston Riverview as it nears completion. The 126-room hotel is projected to open at the end of the year.
The Cambria Charleston Riverview will have 1,300 sq. ft. of multifunction meeting space, a full-service bar and fitness center. The property is near the Ashley River, across the street from the Ashley Marina and close to Charleston’s Historic District.
Hampton Inn & Suites is Open in Rocky Hill, CT
Lotus Hospitality has opened the Hampton Inn & Suites hotel in Rocky Hill, CT. With 90 guestrooms and suites, the hotel has amenities including free WiFi and complimentary hot breakfast. There is also meeting space for up to 50 people, an on-site fitness center, an indoor swimming pool and a patio with a fireplace.
Located in the Hartford South region of Connecticut, the hotel is close to downtown Hartford, Middletown and Glastonbury, as well as Wesleyan University, Trinity College and the University of Hartford.
TownePlace Suites by Marriott to Open in Clovis, NM
Marriott International’s TownePlace Suites by Marriott Clovis is scheduled to open for business on Sept. 11. The new hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Sunridge Hotel Group of Mesa, AZ.
The TownePlace Suites Clovis is located close to downtown and offers guests access to Red Arrow Entertainment, the Norman and Vi Petty Rock & Roll Museum and Casel-Land Fun Center.
Courtyard by Marriott Hotel Nears Completion in Loveland, CO
McWhinney and Stonebridge Companies have partnered to deliver the fourth hotel in Loveland’s Centerra master-planned community. Construction is underway on the Courtyard by Marriott property, which is planned to open later this year.
The four-story, 67,000-sq.-ft. hotel will have 101 guestrooms, a bistro, lounge, 1,200 sq. ft. of meeting space, fitness center, market, pool, hot tub and guest laundry. The hotel marks the third Marriott property in Centerra. 2WR + Partners serves as the architect and Coe Construction as the general contractor for the project.
