Dream Hotel Group’s First Modular Construction Hotel to Open in 2020

Dream Hotel Group plans to open the second U.S. location of its new lifestyle brand Unscripted Hotels in New York’s Catskill Mountains in early 2020. Centrally located within the new Shops at White Lake complex in Bethel, NY, Unscripted Catskills marks the company’s first ground-up build using modular construction—incorporating both hotel and retail—and will serve as a prototype for the Unscripted brand moving forward. It will be designed by Rockwell Group.

Set to open in late 2019, The Shops at White Lake development include an additional 75,000 sq. ft. of retail and professional office space, establishing a much-needed Central Business District for the town of Bethel.

Dream Hotel Group is also developing The Chatwal Lodge, a five-star luxury resort located along the wooded shores of the 1,000-acre Toronto Reservoir at the Chapin Estates in Bethel, NY. The Chatwal Lodge is expected to open in fall 2020 with 34 accommodations through an array of offerings, including villas, suites, treehouses and tents coupled with farm-to-table culinary experiences by Ducasse Paris, founded by multi-Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse.

“Dream Hotel Group is doubling down on iconic Catskills Mountains and beautiful Sullivan County,” said Dream Hotel Group CEO Jay Stein. “With the development of Unscripted Catskills now fully underway, following the recent groundbreaking of The Chatwal Lodge nearby, it’s our goal to be a responsible partner to the community and a driving force in the ongoing restoration and revitalization of the region.”

Slated to open in 2020, the 13-story, 180-room hotel is the adaptive-reuse of a Historic Core District building built in 1927 that was once the office for the Los Angeles Police Department Vice Squad.

Located at 419 S. Spring St., the hotel will be situated along Gallery Row and within walking distance to Little Tokyo’s shopping boutiques and trendy restaurants.

Radisson Red Miami Airport is expected to open late 2019.

The hotel joins the company’s growing roster of historic lifestyle properties, which includes the Hollywood Roosevelt, along with the Hotel Clark (opening fall 2019) and the Trinity Hotel (opening early 2020), both in downtown Los Angeles.

The former Philadelphia Family Court Building is a Beaux-Arts-designed building and is located on Logan Square. Scheduled to open in 2021, the hotel will have 210 guestrooms and more than 20,000-sq. ft. of restaurant and public space, including a rooftop bar.

Hampton by Hilton Tops Off in Indiana

White Lodging revealed the topping off of its new hotel in Fort Wayne, IN, signifying that the structural framework is now complete. The 136-room Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Fort Wayne Downtown, immediately adjacent to Parkview Field and the Grand Wayne Convention Center, is on schedule to open in July.

The hotel will offer all of the amenities expected by Hilton’s upper-midscale brand with several distinctive features, including a walk-up Burger Bar restaurant and an indoor/outdoor rooftop bar—Conner’s Rooftop—offering views of Parkview Field and downtown Fort Wayne.

“The city has delivered on its commitment to re-energize downtown starting with the Harrison Square re-development over a decade ago,” said Deno Yiankes, president/CEO, investments and development at White Lodging. “We are appreciative of the opportunity to play a role and excited to be bringing a unique venue to life, one that we believe visitors and the local community will equally enjoy.”
