OAK BROOK, IL—Mark Shouger has joined Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI) as the senior director of the world’s largest Ronald McDonald House, located near Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
The new 15-story house opened last June and consists of 86 rooms. According to the charity, it sought a guest-centric leader in the hotel industry who could direct operations while providing compassionate care for the role.
Prior to this role, Shouger served as the general manager of theWit hotel in downtown Chicago. He began his 26-year career in hospitality with Hyatt Hotels, working in areas ranging from housekeeping and room management to staffing and front office systems.
Additionally, he has been a volunteer and supporter of RMHC for more than 15 years. He was a key leader in the development of the RMHC-CNI Hotel Advisory Committee, a group that helped to lead the operational planning for the new House.
