ATLANTA—A $60 million renovation is under way at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta here.
Located on Peachtree St., the downtown hotel was the first Hyatt Regency and the worlds first atrium-style hotel when it opened more than 40 years ago.
The renovation will include upgrades to the atrium lobby as well as to the atrium tower guestrooms. In the lobby, more than 576,000 pieces of fan-shaped tile have been removed and the front desk will be replaced with black walnut pod-style desks. A new restaurant and bar concept will be created and the main entrance of the hotel will be enhanced with marble columns.
