SAN DIEGO—Pendry Hotels, the new luxury lifestyle brand from Montage Hotels & Resorts, has named Michael O’Donohue general manager of its first hotel, Pendry San Diego, set to open here in the historic Gaslamp District later this year.
A 22-year industry veteran, O’Donohue joins Pendry having spent the past 10 years serving in various management positions at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., most recently as GM of W San Diego, where he spent three years overseeing the 258-room hotel. Previously, he was the hotel manager at W Atlanta Midtown. O’Donohue also worked at IHG and Hilton Worldwide.
Jason Herthel, president/COO, Montage Hotels & Resorts, noted O’Donohue’s “exceptional track record and in-depth knowledge of San Diego make him ideally suited to take the helm of Pendry San Diego.”
The hotel will feature 317 guestrooms, including 36 suites; a rooftop pool, nightclub, beer hall, spa and fitness facility, two restaurants and more than 22,000 sq. ft. of meeting space.
