Enseo Releases Latest Whitepaper on TV Viewership Patterns
Enseo recently released a whitepaper analyzing guest television viewership during the pandemic, revealing a 49.3% increase in TV viewership in occupied hotel rooms from Q3 2019 to Q3 2020. The whitepaper, “Hotel Television in the Age of COVID-19,” also presents data on the type of content viewed in different hotel segments.

The increase in TV viewership is consistent across all property demographics, from select-service to luxury hotels. Focusing on both time periods of viewership as well as specific content guests are watching, Enseo found that there was an increase in both Over-The-Top (OTT) and streaming content, as well as traditional, linear TV, or free-to-guest content.

Data in the whitepaper was collected through Enseo’s E3 In-Room Entertainment System, which provides comprehensive access to hotel information, television services and streaming OTT applications. In addition to lengths of time guests spent watching various content options, the whitepaper also provides information on the quality of TV systems and associated guest feedback. Amerlux Inks Partnership with Vyv
Lighting company Amerlux has formed a partnership with Vyv, a health tech company whose signature continuous-use, non-UV antimicrobial light technology will be added into Amerlux’s lighting fixtures.

Within 90 days, Amerlux will integrate Vyv’s antimicrobial light technology into a variety of existing and new product lines. The antimicrobial lighting targets microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, yeast and mold, while also meeting international standards for continual and unrestricted use around people, animals and plants.

Utilizing a spectrum composed of visible light, this proprietary technology works around the clock to fight off microorganisms by inhibiting their growth and ultimately destroying these microbes. It is ideal for high-traffic public areas where people congregate, such as airports, hospitals, hotels, gyms and schools. Independent third-party studies, along with research commissioned by Vyv, have shown a reduction of more than 90% in surface contamination across these settings when used on a continual basis.

Indigo Road Forms Partnership for Steak Delivery Program
The Indigo Road Hospitality Group has partnered with Purely Meat Co. on a new steak delivery service for Oak Steakhouse designed to generate additional revenue streams during the COVID-19 pandemic for the hospitality group’s strategic business partners, while delivering high-quality beef to the growing number of home cooks in the U.S.

Purely Meat, which supplies Oak Steakhouse’s beef, including Certified Angus Beef (CAB) steaks, approached The Indigo Road about the steak delivery service concept in late 2020. After their initial discussion, both companies agreed to further their long-standing business relationship by combing their efforts to develop an online ordering system where home cooks (more than 50% of Americans plan on continuing to cook more often at home after the pandemic is over) could order CAB Prime steaks in just a few clicks.

Purely Meat packages and ships the orders in branded Oak Steakhouse boxes. Customers can order filet, ribeye, strip and chop dry age steak, and other beef assortments from Oak Steakhouse’s online platform. There’s no minimum purchase required. Delivery times vary from location to location.

LG Introduces New Line of Outdoor Led Signage
LG Business Solutions USA has introduced a new line of high-brightness outdoor LED Signage displays designed to capture the attention of passersby at various locations including arenas, stadiums, retail stores, restaurants, hospitals, schools, transit centers, hotels and more. Featuring standard pixel pitches ranging from 3.9mm to 16mm, the six models in the GSCA Versatile Series, GSCC Essential Series and GSCD Ultra Light Series are built for outdoor viewing with seamless webOS control, remote diagnostics and failover protection.

The front and back of each series cabinet is IP-rated for outdoor use, enabling stable operation resistant to weather and harmful outdoor environments. For ease of maintenance and serviceability, each series offers either front or rear access, allowing customers to choose installation options based on the application environment. They’re also protected by failover technology that automatically rolls over to a 16GB internal memory in the event of a media player failure. The failover alternative itself could be made up of individual files, a URL or even a separate media player being pulled from another port.
