NATIONAL REPORT—Industry veteran Paul Sacco has made the move to RLHC (Red Lion Hotels Corporation) and RAR Hospitality added three executives to its roster. Here’s a look at some personnel shifts this week:
RLHC bolstered its lodging development division with the addition of Paul Sacco as chief development officer, upscale brands & corporate development.
In his new role, Sacco will be leading and directly overseeing the franchising efforts and corporate growth of the company’s upscale brands. Sacco will focus on driving further footprint advancement of the Hotel RL brand, as well as Red Lion Hotels, Red Lion Inn & Suites, Signature Inn, Lexington and Settle Inn.
Sacco joins RLHC from TPG Hotels & Resorts, where he was president & chief development officer for the past four years. He had been driving the company strategy and hotel portfolio growth via acquisitions, management contracts, mergers and new-construction projects. Sacco also has senior development experience at Pyramid Hotel Group and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
“RLH Corporation is committed to growing our franchising and corporate development efforts, and we know Paul can help us meet our goals. Paul is a highly respected executive in the industry, has sat on various upscale brand advisory boards, and has a strong reputation for getting deals done. We are excited to have him help grow our company,” said President & CEO Greg Mount.
Elsewhere, hotel management company RAR Hospitality added three key corporate executives to its team. Craig Johnson will serve as regional operations manager, Doug Ficke as director of accounting, and Sheryl Paulino as corporate marketing manager.
“Their drive and passion will help to further our mission by offering a full spectrum of hospitality management services,” said Bob Rauch, founder, president and CEO of RAR Hospitality.
Johnson previously served as regional manager for nine Arizona hotels, from Flagstaff to Tucson. He has worked in the hotel business for more than 30 years and has senior leadership experience in all aspects of the business, from hotel management to commercial real estate finance.
Ficke served as the corporate accounting manager at RAR for three years and advanced into the director of accounting position. His responsibilities include oversight of the accounting and financial functions for all hotels managed by RAR.
Paulino is a new member of the RAR executive team as the corporate marketing manager. She brings extensive marketing experience from Sycuan Golf & Tennis Resort and Destination Hotels’ Town & Country Resort in San Diego. She will oversee marketing initiatives for RAR’s hotel management division and its portfolio of branded, boutique, and independent properties.
