Outrigger Names SVP, Chief Development Officer

Outrigger Hospitality Group added Kenny Kan as SVP and chief development officer for the global beach resort brand. In the newly reintroduced role, Kan will report directly to Outrigger President/CEO Jeff Wagoner and oversee the company’s growth initiatives, both in Hawaii and around the globe.

In this role, Kan will help execute the company’s strategic growth strategy, increasing the Outrigger portfolio through acquisitions of resort properties and securing management contracts in Hawaii as well as global resort destinations. Prioritizing Outrigger’s commitment to evolution, Kan will reinforce development across all three tiers of ownership and management, including Outrigger Resorts, the “by Outrigger” branded portfolio and third-party managed assets.

HREC Promotes Phil White to VP

HREC Investment Advisors has promoted Phil White from senior associate to VP, focusing on hospitality brokerage based in the company’s newly opened brokerage office in Jersey City, NJ.

White brings nearly four years of industry transactional experience. At HREC, he has analyzed more than 325 unique lodging properties, valued at a total of more than $6 billion and resulting in the successful disposition of $1 billion in hotel assets.

Red Roof Welcomes Industry Veteran to Franchise Development Team

Greg Aden is expanding his role with Red Roof and will be joining the team as consultant, franchise development, West Coast, and will be leading franchise development for the Western United States. Aden brings more than 30 years of hospitality experience, plus financial services knowledge and leadership coaching to the organization.

He is a former VP of franchise development-Western U.S. with IHG where he led strategic franchise development for five globally recognized brands and provided mentoring and leadership for seven regional directors.

Skender Manufacturing Hires VP of Business Development

Skender, a vertically integrated design, construction and manufacturing firm based in Chicago, hired Michael Merle as VP of business development. With more than 25 years of experience in construction, building products and strategic business development, Merle will be charged with continually evolving and promoting Skender’s modular capabilities, in particular across the hospitality sector.

Merle’s new role will include oversight of the advanced manufacturing’s business development efforts and showcasing the operations of Skender’s manufacturing facility, where production of modular building components is currently underway.
