Mosaic Hotel Group Names President
Mosaic Hotel Group (MHG) has named Edmund Sulzman as president. Sulzman is responsible for overseeing the hotel group’s current portfolio of six boutique hotels, as well as spearheading developments and upcoming hotel launches in California and Mexico.
Sulzman joined Mosaic Hotel Group from Trust Hospitality in Miami, where as SVP of operations he opened and operated hotels throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean.
Airbnb China Appoints New President
Tao Peng is set to assume the role of president of Airbnb China this September. Peng is an entrepreneur, building travel-recommendation and social-sharing apps like Breadtrip and CityHunter. In the last two years he also co-founded CityHome, a company that offers short-term rentals in homes and apartments across China. Recently, Airbnb China invested $5 million in Peng’s Beijing-based CityHome platform.
Hilton Names SVP of Caribbean & Latin America Operations
Hilton appoints Jorge Giannattasio as SVP and head of Caribbean and Latin America operations. In his newly appointed position, Giannattasio will oversee the region where Hilton currently operates a portfolio of more than 130 hotels. Giannattasio joins Hilton from SBE Entertainment Group, where he held the role of COO.
Concord Hospitality Enterprises Promotes Two Associates
Concord Hospitality Enterprises promoted two associates. Nicole Porter is now regional VP of sales and Chris Tyner will take on the role of regional VP. In each of their respective new roles, Porter and Tyner will support Concord’s properties in the Mid-Atlantic region, including hotels in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.
Crescent Hotels & Resorts Hires Robert Butler as EVP of Operations
Crescent Hotels & Resorts named Robert Butler as EVP of operations. Butler will have oversight of Crescent operations and Crescent culinary teams at all properties. Butler brings to the Crescent team more than 30 years of operational leadership experience. Prior to joining Crescent Hotels & Resorts, he served as EVP of operations at Sage Hospitality with total oversight of operations and revenue performance for Sage’s full-service portfolio.
Concertex Taps Aaron Mensik as Design Director
Concertex names a new design director, Aaron Mensik. Mensik has joined Concertex to lead the design studio and curate the brands’ aesthetic. Completing his BFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a focus on textiles and ceramics, Mensik continued to expand his expertise with more than 20 years of experience in the industry designing textiles and wovens.
