NYC Hotels Donate Rooms During Crisis

NEW YORK—Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo revealed that a number of hotels in New York City have donated rooms to help increase the state’s supply capacity amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The properties include Four Seasons Hotel New York, St. Regis New York, The Plaza, Yotel New York and Room Mate Grace Hotel in Manhattan, as well as Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn.

All six properties are offering free rooms for medical personnel currently working to respond to the outbreak, while the St. Regis, The Plaza and Yotel New York will also have rooms available to noncritical care patients.

The hotels join many other companies, including Goldman Sachs, Facebook, JetBlue, Walmart and L’Oreal, which are helping the city with the most COVID-19 cases in the U.S.

“New York is fighting a war against this virus and we need all the help we can get,” said Gov. Cuomo. “The generosity of these companies, organizations and individuals—and many others coming forward every day to offer support—will play a critical role in our mission to bolster our hospital surge capacity, support frontline workers and get people the help they need. On behalf of the family of New York, I am deeply grateful for their generosity. We will get through this difficult time together, with the kindness, strength and tenacity that New York is known for.”
