DALLAS—NewcrestImage yesterday broke ground for two properties of a four-brand, 600-room “lifestyle hotel campus” here in North Dallas.
The first two hotels—an AC Hotel and a Residence Inn, both by Marriott—will offer 300 rooms and are scheduled to open in mid-2018. They have separate entrances but will share the same management and sales team, as well as the same housekeeping staff. The second phase of construction is expected to begin later this year and will feature a Canopy Hotel by Hilton and a Hyatt Place, each with 150 rooms.
“We have carefully designed these hotels to meet a broad range of guest needs while offering an exceptional travel experience by blending the comforts of home, the convenience of the office and the luxuries of a vacation,” said Mehul Patel, chairman/CEO of NewcrestImage.
All four hotels are located at Frisco Station, a 242-acre mixed-use development. Together, they anchor a 200,000-sq.-ft. dining and entertainment area called “The Hub,” which connects and supports Frisco Station’s more than five million sq. ft. of office space; 2,400 urban living units; and park areas.
The eight-story, 150-room AC Hotel by Marriott at Frisco Station will be among the first of this brand in North Texas and will include more than 4,500 sq. ft. of event space. The same building will house a seven-story, 150-room Residence Inn by Marriott as an extended-stay option that features both one- and two-bedroom suites, all with fully equipped kitchens. Amenities will include an indoor pool, two lounge areas, a dining room plus free grocery delivery service.
Decor for the AC Hotel will feature tones of gray and brown; furniture and fixtures with asymmetrical lines and round shapes; highly textured, patterned walls and ceilings. By contrast, the Residence Inn—unlike other properties in this brand family—is designed with vibrant colors; eclectic furniture and artwork; and textured walls.

NewcrestImage currently has a portfolio of 23 hotels, with another seven hotels under construction or in development including sites in Cincinnati, New Orleans and Houston.
