HX and BDNY 2020 Canceled

NEW YORK—HX: The Hotel Experience Powered by AAHOA and BDNY, which were scheduled for November 8-9, 2020, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center here, have been officially canceled.

Organizers said that the decision was made after closely monitoring government regulations and safety measures concerning the COVID-19 pandemic and consulting its community partners and supporters.

“Recent developments have made it impossible to bring our community together safely and successfully,” organizers said in a statement. “This is due to the ongoing progression of the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S., including the latest government data, measures and guidelines on the phased reopening plans in the U.S.; current restrictions on congregating and large gatherings imposed by states and other government and public health authorities; travel restrictions into the New York City area; and the various company-imposed travel restrictions on employees affecting attendees and participating companies.”

Cecil P. Staton, president/CEO, AAHOA, said, “The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted the hotel industry, but we know we will rebound together and continue to thrive. We cannot thank the community enough for its support. We look forward to 2021.”

“Our partnership with Emerald for HX is one of our most important relationships and events of the year,” added Biran Patel, chairman, AAHOA. “While we are disappointed not to gather in 2020, we look forward to the road to recovery, which runs through HX: The Hotel Experience Powered by AAHOA in 2021.”

The next editions of the events are scheduled for November 14-15, 2021, in New York City.
