BAAR, SWITZERLAND—Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has signed the contract for a second Mövenpick hotel at Stuttgart Airport in Stuttgart, Germany. The new-build hotel is expected to open in spring 2019.
Ulm architects Mühlich, Fink & Partner will design the 262-room property. The hotel will have a 150-seat restaurant and a bar with seating for 100 guests. For events and conferences, the design incorporates a ballroom and several meeting rooms. The new hotel will be situated by the S-Bahn and the planned ICE airport station and tram terminal stop.
“The new hotel will not only increase Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ profile in Germany, but also expand our European portfolio, which represents an important part of our corporate expansion strategy,” said Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts CEO Olivier Chavy.
There are currently eight Mövenpick hotels in Germany, three in the Netherlands, one in France, four in Turkey and five in Switzerland.
Another hotel will also open in Basel, Switzerland in 2019.
