Morgans Provides iPads to Guests At NYC’s Royalton

NEW YORK – Morgans Hotel Group Co. plans to provide guests at its Royalton hotel with custom Apple iPads as a  supplement to its concierge program.

This new initiative launched during New York Fashion Week, and will continue indefinitely, with plans to embellish the  features and content in the months to come. Direct communication with hotel management via the iPads will enable one touch access to hotel services including in-room dining, housekeeping, wake up calls, valet parking/bellman, internet, hotel information, transportation options, maps and directions, as well as features such as inks to major media outlets and a custom playlist of sounds to help guests fall asleep.

In addition to serving as a resource for guests, this new platform also offers communication tools for hotel staff, including messaging, notes from the General Manager, messages regarding programmed events and information on specialty cocktails and featured menu items from the restaurant.

One of the additional features in development is a mobile application that will allow guests to access these features from their mobile device. The iPad amenity will be expanded to the entire hotel collection, according to the company.
