Marriott’s Family of Brands Make Moves in DC, OK, MN, CT

NATIONAL REPORT—The Marriott brand is making moves across the country, with big city dual-brands and openings with new guest experiences. Here’s a look:

DC Dual-Brand Honors the City

Quadrangle Development Corporation, Capstone Development and Crestline Hotels and Resorts have opened the dual-branded Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott Washington Downtown/Convention Center in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC. The hotels include a combined 504 guestrooms and more than 10,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting and event spaces.

The 357-room Courtyard has guestrooms with 55-in. flat screen televisions complete with Marriott’s signature entertainment platform and bathrooms with backlit mirrors. The 147-room Residence Inn provides families and extended stay travelers with a living area as well as a fully equipped kitchens. The connected hotels share a rooftop space complete with an exercise facility, a rooftop terrace and a tented event space.

Diners at The Delegate, a separately managed restaurant and bar by Thompson Hospitality, will be seated in several significant buildings dating back to the mid-19th century, preserved to honor Shaw’s historic streetscape and used as inspiration for the restaurant’s brick interior.

Residence Inn Comes to Tulsa, OK, Close to Businesses

The 117-­suite Residence Inn by Marriott in Tulsa, OK is now open. The all­-suite Residence Inn Tulsa Downtown will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Spring Tulsa LLC.

Located downtown and close to Tulsa International Airport, the Residence Inn Tulsa Downtown offers its guests access to the Cox Business Center, the BOK Center, ONEOK Field, Brady Theater and Cain’s Ballroom. 

The hotel also has grocery delivery service, complimentary Wi­Fi, 24­-hour on-site food and beverage market, dry cleaning services and on-site guest laundry room. The hotel also has a business library, outdoor swimming pool, exercise room and 1,256 sq. ft. of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 50 people.

Fairfield Inn & Suites Opens in Minnesota with Amenities

The 80­-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Northfield, MN is open. The hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Rebound Hospitality LLC of Northfield, MN.

Whether traveling for business or leisure, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Northfield offers guests access to Carleton College, St. Olaf College and downtown Northfield, with dining, shopping and entertainment options. 

The four-­story hotel has a full­-service bar and a large deck that overlooks the Cannon River. Additional hotel amenities include a climate­-controlled underground garage, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, complimentary Wi­Fi, as well as fax and copy services and a boardroom. 

Residence Inn in Connecticut Opens with Guest Discovery Options

The newly opened Residence Inn by Marriott Stamford Downtown in Stamford, CT is offering guests opportunities ranging from local attraction visits to adult activities:

Maritime Aquarium—The Long Island Sound ecosystem is on display at The Maritime Aquarium in nearby Norwalk, Connecticut, where 75 live exhibits and more than 2,700 marine animals help teach people of all ages about protecting and respecting the environment. Guests will receive two general admission tickets to the aquarium and an activity guide to kick­start their aquatic explorations.

Fast & Furious at RPM Raceway Stamford— For those with a need for speed, Italian go­-karts on an indoor track designed to imitate formula courses is a close second to the real thing. 

Let’s Roll at RPM Raceway Stamford—A different level of competition comes by way of 14 bowling lanes at RPM Raceway.

Spavia Relax Experience—For a day of restoration, guests will be chauffeured to nearby luxury day spa, Spavia.
