Marriott, My Place Open Hotels in the Heartland

NATIONAL REPORT—The Heartland of the U.S. is seeing a number of new hotel openings as Marriott has opened three new properties and My Place debuted its first property in Wisconsin. Here’s a look:

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Opens in Marion, IA

The 88-suite TownePlace Suites by Marriott Cedar Rapids/Marion recently opened in Iowa. It is owned by Marion Hotel Associates LLC and managed by Kinseth Hospitality of North Liberty, IA. The property offers studio, one­-bedroom and two-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens, as well as separate living/working and sleeping areas. It is accessible to the Prospect Meadows Ball Fields, Lindale Mall and Uptown Marion, offering numerous shopping, dining and entertainment options.

Courtyard Hotel Opens in Toledo, OH

Courtyard by Marriott Toledo West has opened its doors in Toledo, OH. The 118-room hotel includes the latest lobby and room design. The property is near the University of Toledo, the Toledo Zoo, the Toledo Museum of Art, the Center, Imagination Station and Fifth Third Field—home of the Toledo Mud Hens. The five-story hotel has an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center and guest laundry, and offers 500 sq. ft. of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 35 people. The property is owned and managed by Key Hotel & Property Management.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Debuting Soon in Plainfield, IN

The SpringHill Suites by Marriott Indianapolis Airport Plainfield in Indiana is set to open next week. The 103-suite hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by Shree Hotels LLC and managed by Commonwealth Hotels of Covington, KY. The hotel is located four miles from Indianapolis Airport, and is proximate to the Indiana Convention Center/Lucas Oil Stadium, Victory Field and the Indianapolis Zoo.

My Place Hotel Opens in Mount Pleasant, WI

My Place Hotels of America has opened its 48th property in the Village of Mount Pleasant, WI, marking the first My Place Hotel in the Badger State and the brand’s 22nd state entry. The three-story, 64-unit hotel is located near the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and a multitude of outdoor attractions such as Petrifying Springs Park and Ives Grove Golf Course.
