Marriott International’s Chief Development Officer and SVP, Middle East and Africa, Appointed

BETHESDA, MD—Samir Baidas has been appointed Marriott International’s chief development officer, Middle East and Africa and Philip Bryson will serve as senior vice president, Middle East and North Africa.

Baidas has worked for Marriott International for 10 years. He began his career in 1991 in Saudi Arabia, and after establishing BDO Bahrain Jawad Habib’s hospitality and real estate consultancy department, rejoined Marriott as vice president development officer in 2004. In his new position, he will be responsible for the overall performance of Marriott International’s existing properties as well as providing oversight for new-builds in the Middle East and North Africa.

Bryson has worked for Marriott International for more than 20 years in the United Kingdom, Africa, and Asia. He will oversee the area vice president and market vice president and will be responsible for developing and implementing regional strategies and initiatives, executing brand service strategies enhancing owner loyalty.

Recently, Marriott International announced 14 new properties in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
