Marriott Courtyard Expands in NYC; More Developments…

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotels are expanding portfolios across the U.S. From big market projects to ski resort destinations and boutique properties in historic cities, here’s more on the recent developments:

Marriott Courtyard to Open in Prime NYC Location

Endeavor Hospitality Group plans to open the Marriott Courtyard New York Midtown West in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards District. The 399-room, 28-floor hotel is slated to open this spring. The property is located across from Hudson Yards and near the Jacob Javits Center, the Highline, Madison Square Garden and close to Times Square.

The hotel will have more than 1,700 sq. ft. of meeting space and a full-service restaurant, bar and lounge with a large skylight and a fitness center.

Houston Property to Open Part of Mixed-Use Allen Center

Over the past two years, the ownership group of The DoubleTree by Hilton Houston Downtown has been conceptualizing C. Baldwin, a hyper-localized, independent hotel. The property is slated to debut this summer in Houston, located on the western edge of Downtown at Allen Parkway near Sam Houston Park.

The 354-room hotel will have a signature restaurant, 14,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, a nail salon and local retailers available, part of the reimagined 3.2-million-sq.-ft. mixed-use campus.

YotelPad Expands With Third in the U.S. 

YotelPad Mammoth, the brand’s third U.S. location, is slated to break ground this spring in Mammoth Lakes, CA. YotelPad Mammoth is close to the gondola and The Village at Mammoth, a four­-season destination, and one of the country’s top ski resorts with one of the longest ski seasons in North America.

The opening of YotelPad Mammoth 2020/2021 winter will be the first new­-build amenitized community on the mountain in more than a decade. YotelPad Mammoth will have 156 efficient Pads (condominiums). The property will also unveil the brand’s Domo concept with 21 townhomes.

Beachy Property Underway in California

Sudberry Properties and Tharaldson Development and Hospitality have started construction of a 100-guestroom Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton at Breakwater Town Center in Imperial Beach, CA. The hotel, scheduled to open in early 2020, is a four-story, 62,000-sq.-ft.  project with “beach modern” architecture, a fitness center, breakfast and lounge area, business center and swimming pool.

The hotel is the final phase of Breakwater Town Center, a public-private partnership by the city of Imperial Beach and Sudberry Properties. The town center occupies a 4.75-acre site and serves at the gateway to Imperial Beach and Coronado.

The hotel’s development team includes Design Cell Architecture and Watkins Landmark Construction. The hotel will be owned by Heritage Inn of Imperial Beach LLC, with Sudberry Properties serving as a managing partner.

More Charm Headed to Historic New Orleans

LeBlanc+Smith’s first hotel project, The Corsair Hotel, is scheduled to open this fall in historic Uptown New Orleans. With interior design by Sara Ruffin Costello and landscape architecture by John D. Gray and Gray Gardens, the boutique hotel will have 15 rooms, including four suites, a restaurant with an adjoining lobby bar and a pool bar.
