NATIONAL REPORT—Marriott International Inc.’s brands have opened properties across the country. From Ocean City, MD, to San Diego, here are the latest debuts.
Aloft Ocean City Debuts
Aloft Hotels, in partnership with East Coast hospitality specialist Blue Water Development and Real Hospitality, has opened Aloft Ocean City in Maryland. The 120-room, pet-friendly hotel has a fitness center; an indoor and outdoor pool, including a poolside bar and private balconies overlooking Isle of Wight Bay; and two bay-facing event spaces totaling 3,250 sq. ft.
“As Blue Water’s first new-construction in Ocean City, it’s been thrilling to watch the Aloft come alive and reflect our vibrant coastal atmosphere,” said Todd Burbage, Blue Water co-owner. “The sleek design and energetic vibe can’t be found anywhere else in Ocean City, so we can’t wait for our guests to begin enjoying the Aloft lifestyle in this popular resort town.”
In addition to bringing the first lifestyle hotel to Ocean City, Aloft provides at least 60 jobs to the area.
Fairfield Opens Six Properties
The Fairfield brand has opened a number of properties across the country recently. This includes the 120room Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites in Plano, TX, owned and managed by Chase Hospitality, LLC; the 86room Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites in Port Clinton, OH, owned and managed by RAR Hospitality; the 84room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Jasper, IN, owned by River Centre Hotel Developers LLC, partners Boxer Girl LLC and General Hotels Corporation; the 100-room Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites New York Staten Island, managed by Prestige Hospitality Group; the 74-room Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites in Greenfield, IN, owned and managed by Star Hotels Inc.; and the 83-room Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites in Kalamazoo, MI, owned by Devi Kzoo LLC and managed by RevPar Companies.
SpringHill Suites Opens Hotels on West Coast, in the South
SpringHill Suites has also opened properties in California, Texas and Tennessee: The 107-key SpringHill Suites by Marriott San Diego Escondido/Downtown, owned and managed by Excel Hotel Group; the 134-key SpringHill Suites Nashville Brentwood, owned and managed by Pinnacle Hospitality Partners LLC; and the 128-key SpringHill Suites by Marriott Dallas Central Expressway, owned by Avail Hotels LLC and managed by MOE Hospitality.
Residence Inn Debuts Two
The 120-suite Residence Inn by Marriott in Virginia Beach, VA, has opened. It is owned and managed by Coastal Hospitality Associates. The brand has also opened a property in Lancaster, PA: a 127-suite property owned and managed by High Hotels Ltd.
