MILWAUKEE—Marcus Hotels & Resorts, a division of The Marcus Corporation, has made two executive management promotions: Scott Shoenberger has been named SVP/operations and acquisitions and Peggy Williams-Smith has been named corporate VP of food & beverage.
Shoenberger will assume responsibility for transitioning the company’s new acquisitions and management contracts to its growing portfolio, while continuing to oversee the hotel operations of several Marcus Hotels’ properties.
Shoenberger has more than 30 years of hotel industry experience. He joined Marcus Hotels & Resorts in 2005 and most recently served as VP of operations. Prior to joining the company, he served in various positions at The Irvine Company, Noble House Hotels & Resorts, Olympus Hospitality and Dusit Hotels & Resorts, overseeing acquisitions and managing leading hotel properties.
He has served on various boards including Starwood Hotels & Resorts Owner’s Advisory Council, Florida Gulf Coast University School of Hospitality & Resort Management and the Economic Development Council of Collier County, FL. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Denver.
Williams-Smith will assume responsibility for standardizing and expanding the company’s f&b operations, including brands such as the ChopHouse and Miller Time Pub & Grill.
Williams-Smith joined Marcus Hotels & Resorts as a catering manager with the Hilton Milwaukee in 1997. During her career with the company, she served in a variety of positions, including director of catering for the Hilton Milwaukee and The Pfister Hotel, general manager of Brynwood Country Club and most recently, as senior corporate director, catering sales and event management. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
