INTERNATIONAL REPORT—C-suite executives at Canyon Ranch and Atlantis, Paradise Island are taking on new leadership roles. Here’s a look at recent appointments:
Wellness resort company Canyon Ranch has named COO Thomas Klein as president of Canyon Ranch. With more than 35 years in the hospitality industry, Klein was brought on to the Canyon Ranch team in April 2016 as COO.
In this new role, Klein will continue to direct all operational aspects of the company businesses, while also working collaboratively with the senior leadership to move the brand into its next chapter of growth.
“I joined this company 18 months ago looking for a new chapter with tremendous growth potential as well as the opportunity to impact the lives of others, and I have found that with Canyon Ranch,” said Klein. “I am thrilled to take on this expanded role as this cherished and respected brand continues to prosper and evolve.”

Outside of Canyon Ranch, Klein continues to keep service along with health and wellness top of mind. Most recently, he became an advisory board member of the Cornell Institute for Healthy Futures. He has remained actively involved in his communities as well, holding various positions on executive boards such the Cornell Institute for Healthy Futures and numerous philanthropic organizations.
Atlantis, Paradise Island
Atlantis, Paradise Island resort in The Bahamas has appointed Audrey Oswell as president and managing director. Previously, Oswell held the role of COO at the resort since the end of 2016 and had previously held the role of chief gaming officer at Atlantis from 2011 to 2013.
Andrea Balkan, managing partner of Brookfield Asset Management, owners of the resort, said, “We are extremely pleased that Audrey will elevate her leadership role at the resort, especially as she was an integral part of the team that was involved in creating the new vision and direction of Atlantis. Audrey is not only deeply experienced in the resort and casino space, but she brings a level of compassion and knowledge to this role. Oswell brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality and gaming industry to this role. Prior to joining Atlantis in 2016, she served as the interim CEO/COO for Seneca Gaming, president and COO at Caesars, as CEO at Resorts International in Atlantic City and as COO at Fountainbleau in Las Vegas.
