INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Leading Hotels of the World and AMResorts are expanding their portfolios with openings across the globe. Here’s a look at what’s open and in the works as the collections set their sights abroad:

Leading Hotels of the World Adds to Portfolio

The Leading Hotels of the World Ltd has added eight to its portfolio of more than 400 independent luxury hotels. With the addition of the new members, the portfolio expands to include a riverside hideaway in central Thailand, a modern island retreat in Portugal and a fjord city grande dame in Norway which marks the collections’ new Northernmost Leading Hotel:

  • Antigon Urban Chic Hotel (Thessaloniki, Greece)
  • Britannia Hotel (Trondheim, Norway)
  • Hotel Des Indes (The Hauge, Netherlands)
  • Mr. C Coconut Grove (Coconut Grove, FL)
  • Nobu Hotel Los Cabos (Los Cabos, Mexico)
  • Raya Heritage (Amphur Mae Rim, Chiang Mai, Thailand)
  • Savoy Palace (Funchal, Portugal)

AMResorts Expands, Rebrands in Mexico

Mexico remains the cornerstone of the growth strategy set for AMResorts, an Apple Leisure Group related brand, with the upcoming openings of five new resorts this year. The openings will expand the presence of the award-winning brands, Dreams, Now and Sunscape Resort & Spas, bringing AMResorts’ total branded portfolio in the country to more than 30 resorts:

  • Dream Acapulco Resort & Spa (opening later this year)
  • Now Emerald Cancun Resort & Spa (opening in June)
  • Now Natura Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa (opening in December)
  • Sunscape Akumal Beach Resort & Spa (opening in June)
  • Sunscape Star Cancun Resort & Spa (opening in November)

AMResorts will continue to bolster its brand presence in the Mexico and across the Caribbean in the coming years with other deals for Secrets St. Martin Resort & Spa debuting in March 2020, Breathless Cancun Resort & Spa opening in 2020 and Breathless Tulum Resort & Spa set to open in 2021.

Additionally, AMResorts will rebrand three Reflect Resorts & Spas properties in Mexico this year. In addition to changing the resort names to Reflect Cancun Resort & Spa, Reflect Los Cabos Resort & Spa and Reflect Nuevo Vallarta Resort & Spa, guests will have enhanced facilities and amenities at each property such as new resort experiences inspired by the local cuisine and culture and more activities and entertainment. All three resorts will continue to offer the brand’s signature Unlimited-Luxury vacation concept, where everything is included.
