L.A., Chicago add luxury hotels to pipelines

Los Angeles and Chicago will add new luxury hotels next year.

Conrad Los Angeles
Conrad Hotels & Resorts, one of Hilton’s luxury hotel brands, has signed its first hotel in California, Conrad Los Angeles. The property is part of Related Companies’ mixed-use development, The Grand LA, designed by Frank Gehry, located in downtown L.A.

Expected to open in 2022 and managed by Hilton, the 28-story hotel will include 305 guestrooms, a spa, an elevated indoor/outdoor lobby with views of the Walt Disney Concert Hall and a 16,000-sq.-ft. rooftop terrace with a private pool deck overlooking downtown L.A. The luxury property will also offer 12,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event facilities with integrated technology capabilities as well as a fitness room.

The Grand LA will include 176,000 sq. ft. of retail and dining space, more than 400 residences and a large, vibrant public plaza with a series of landscaped, open terraces that will host free arts programming throughout the year, including live concerts. Also nearby are The Broad, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Museum of Contemporary Art, Grand Park, Colburn School and The Music Center.

The LaSalle hotel
The Prime Group Inc. and Aimbridge Hospitality will open The LaSalle Hotel in early February 2022 in the center of Chicago’s Loop. The properties will occupy the top five floors of the historic building at 208 S. LaSalle, adjacent to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Designed by DiLeonardo International and Chipman Design Architecture with a classic Art Deco sensibility befitting the landmarked historic building designed by Daniel Burnham in 1920, the hotel will include a signature restaurant and lounge named Grill on 21; 232 suites and oversized guestrooms; a library retreat and a solarium adjacent to the hotel lobby; a fitness center; and more than 7,500 sq. ft. of ballroom and meeting space.
