Kimpton Sawyer Hotel introduces in-suite fitness package

The Kimpton Sawyer Hotel in Sacramento, CA, has created its own version of the in-room gym for guests who want to break a sweat in private.

The hotel’s Sweat Suite program enables guests staying in one of the hotel’s suites to book a fitness experience that includes either a Peloton bike or a Mirror fitness device.

“The Sweat Suite program is a way to allow visitors who prefer to work out in the comfort of their guestroom that option while they are traveling,” said GM Nikki Carlson. “Health and wellness and being able to stay consistent with fitness on the road is more important than ever to individuals who are traveling for work or leisure. The Sweat Suite package gives this unique in-room experience for our guests, providing a level of privacy and exclusivity for those who might be looking for that.”

Before their scheduled arrival, guests can book the Sweat Suite package add-on via the hotel’s website here. “Once the specific trip dates are selected, the Sawyer team will set up the in-room fitness experience via Peloton or Mirror upon arrival,” said Carlson.

Available in the Spa, Balcony and Suite categories, guests receive one of the two pieces of fitness equipment—and their respective fitness programs—in the room, but also a spa amenity kit with a honey face mask, a locally made lavender bath bomb and champagne bubble gummies, along with $25 gift card from local fitness apparel company Bueno Sports.

Carlson noted that Peloton has been a preferred partner with Kimpton for several years, adding, “We have multiple Pelotons in our hotel gym and, as a result, this piece of equipment is frequently used. With its popularity growing throughout the pandemic, we thought this would be a great option for hotel guests as many like the community aspect of the platform. Mirror also emerged in popularity out of the pandemic, giving followers an option to select diverse workout offerings such as cardio-focused sessions, strength training, boxing, Pilates and more.”

Those guests who book the package also have access, at a cost, to in-room services from Trü Spa, which recently opened at the hotel. Treatments include a deeply restorative CBD massage and a deep tissue massage combining trigger point therapy and stretching.

The property doesn’t plan on ending the service anytime soon. “We anticipate offering the bookable experience through our website for the remainder of the year and into 2022,” said Carlson.

For those who want to venture outside their guestrooms, The Sawyer also has a partnership with Pure Barre to offer complimentary outdoor classes on the pool deck, as well as a fitness center and a bike and scooter rental program for kids.
