LOS ANGELES—Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is set to double its presence in the city, opening two new hotels this spring. There are already two existing Kimpton properties here—Hotel Palomar Los Angeles Beverly Hills and Hotel Wilshire—and the company will soon welcome The Everly, situated at the base of the Hollywood Hills, and La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood’s Design District, which will reflect the neighborhood’s art, architecture and fashion. The expansion will continue later this year with the launch of a new property in Palm Springs, CA.
“L.A. is an important region for Kimpton, and we will be uniquely positioned with four different hotels and restaurants throughout town offering the same uncompromising service our guests know and love,” said Ed Virtue, area director of operations, SoCal – Los Angeles & Orange County, Kimpton Hotels.
The Everly, slated to open in late April, will have 216 rooms, communal spaces and distinctive design. The hotel is proximate to the intersection of Hollywood and Vine, and the Capitol Records building with views of the nearby Hollywood sign, downtown Los Angeles skyline and the Pacific Coast.
Property highlights will include a lobby with 28-ft. ceilings, a 12-seat bar, adjacent library room and street-level cafe with a menu paying tribute to the Italian-based slow food movement. A fifth-floor pool deck will serve craft cocktails and light bites from day to night. Meeting and event spaces, a fitness center and in-room spa treatments will round out the offerings.
Set to open in May, La Peer Hotel will be anchored between West Hollywood’s Melrose Ave. and Santa Monica Blvd. The property will have 105 guestrooms and suites, a rooftop event space, a pool and poolside fitness center, as well as more than 8,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor dining and lounge spaces. Casey Lane, chef/owner of the Tasting Kitchen in Venice, CA, and Casa Apicii in New York, will create a new restaurant concept for the property.
