In the South, Hotels See Modern Updates

NATIONAL REPORT—A smattering of hotels in Southern U.S. states have renovations that are completed or near completion, updating guestrooms and adding new amenities. Here’s a look:

Homewood Suites by Hilton Has Updates in Greenville, SC and Ashburn, VA 

Homewood Suites by Hilton Greenville Downtown has a renovation set to be complete by Q1 of 2019. The eight-story, 151-suite hotel developed and owned by Parks Hospitality Group, is located in Greenville’s historic West End, near the Greenville Dr. minor league baseball team.

When completed, the new Homewood Suites by Hilton Greenville Downtown will provide fully equipped kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas. A complimentary, daily full-hot breakfast, evening social Monday-Thursday, WiFi, and grocery shopping service will also be available. Elsewhere on the property, there’s an outdoor kitchen with grill area, outdoor pool and sports court and 9,000 sq. ft. of joined retail space with outdoor seating.

In other brand news, PM Hotel Group completed the renovation of the Homewood Suites by Hilton Dulles-North/Loudoun. The Buccini/Pollin Group (BPG) owns the hotel.

The hotel’s lobby and lodge have new finishes and furniture, while a business center and sundry area were also added. In addition, all corridors have new carpeting, wallcovering, and lighting fixtures. There is also an outdoor kitchen, lounge seating, and fire pit.

Suites were updated with stainless steel dishwashers, microwaves and refrigerators, new furniture, including dining room chairs, sofa beds and lounge chairs. Bathrooms received new vanity accessories, including backlit mirrors.

In Arlington, VA, a Courtyard Gets Modern Guestrooms

Located near Reagan National Airport, the Courtyard Arlington Crystal City has unveiled its recent guestroom renovation. Designed to cater to today’s traveler, there are modern accents, custom furnishings, upgraded bathrooms and a new signature bedding package.

Guestroom renovations include high-end pullout sofas with pillow top mattresses; a complete overhaul of the bathrooms, fixtures and flooring; shower with dual shower head; new carpet, coolers and in-room safes; as well as WiFi and HDTV.

Omni Undergoing Renovation in Houston 

Omni Houston Hotel is undergoing a $30-million renovation process and will be helmed by its new general manager Allan Codore. The reopening date is slated for Nov. 1, 2018. Codore who rejoins the 378-room Omni Houston Hotel on Jun. 1 is an Omni Hotels & Resorts and Omni Houston Hotel veteran who started with the brand 22 years ago.

Along with a renovated lobby, the first floor evolution continues throughout various common spaces including a retail venue, coffee and wine bar and whiskey room. The dining outlet which has been redesigned, will encourage guests to gather, collaborate and socialize around the bar. The nightclub, Black Swan, will also return with a similar modern design. Meeting space on the first and second floors are also set for an update and will include an additional 2,500 sq.-ft. of flexible meeting space. The property will offer two new conference areas with boardrooms and breakout space.
