Hyatt Undergoing Organizational Changes

CHICAGO—Hyatt Hotels Corporation is undergoing organizational changes to support its strategy of driving preference by providing distinctive brand experiences, including the integration of global operations structure, the formation of an integrated team to lead select-service business and the creation of a global franchising strategy function.

Chuck Floyd has been appointed as global president of operations, effective August 1, 2014. He will continue to lead and develop the company’s global operations center (GOC) and the brand’s shared operation services organization, as well as assume responsibility for the operation of Hyatt’s hotels globally. Each of the group presidents of Hyatt’s three regions will report to Floyd. He is a 33-year veteran of Hyatt and has served as COO, North America, from 2006 to 2011. Since 2012, he has served as group president, GOC.

Pete Sears has been appointed group president – Americas, effective September 1, 2014. He will report to Floyd and be responsible for the growth and operation of Hyatt’s portfolio in the U.S., Latin America and Caribbean. The 27-year Hyatt veteran has served as GM of several full-service hotels and was later appointed SVP, operations in North America. Since 2012, he has served as SVP, operations for Asia Pacific.

Steve Haggerty’s role has been expanded to include responsibility for Hyatt’s franchising strategy and select-service business. He will serve as global head of capital strategy, franchising and select service, effective August 1, 2014. He has been with the company since 2007, when he joined as global head of development and real estate. Prior to joining the company, he held various finance, asset management and development roles at Marriott. Since 2012, Haggerty has served as global head of real estate and capital strategy with Hyatt.
