Hotel Projects Shape Up in U.S. Cities

NATIONAL REPORT—JW Marriott plants a flag in the Carolinas, a new resort and casino is coming to Vegas, plus a boutique hotel is set to open in Cincinnati:

JW Marriott Charlotte Reaches Construction Milestone
The first JW Marriott in the Carolinas is on track for completion in the first half of 2021. White Lodging and Crescent Communities, co-developers of the project, and their construction partners recently celebrated the completion of the structural framework of the 22-story hotel in Charlotte, NC. JW Marriott Charlotte will have 381 guestrooms, including 34 suites, more than 15,000 sq. ft. of flexible event space, a spa, restaurants and a rooftop pool. Additionally, the hotel has access to the adjacent Charlotte Convention Center.

Circa Resort & Casino to Open in Downtown Las Vegas Ahead of Schedule
CEO/developer Derek Stevens’ newest Downtown Las Vegas property, Circa Resort & Casino, is set to debut on Oct. 28. Previously slated for a December 2020 launch, the 1.25 million-sq.-ft. integrated casino-resort will open with its first five floors of amenities and parking hub—Garage Mahal—ahead of schedule. To achieve the expedited timeline, construction reallocated resources from Circa’s hotel tower to the first five floors. Slated for completion at the end of 2020, the tower will house Circa’s 777 rooms and suites starting on the eighth floor. Guests looking to visit prior to the tower opening can reserve rooms at the D Las Vegas or Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, also owned by Stevens, and have access to Circa’s pool and public amenities.

Boutique Hotel Set to Open in Cincinnati
A new design-forward boutique hotel is slated to open in downtown Cincinnati this September—Kinley, Cincinnati Downtown. Part of Vision Hospitality Group, the 94-room Kinley is located between downtown and the city’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. The property will also have a new restaurant, Khora, for dining, which will showcase locally sourced ingredients to put a modern Midwest spin on classic recipes.
