Hotel Felix Awarded LEED Silver Certification

CHICAGO—Hotel Felix here has received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver level certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

The 225-room boutique hotel, which was designed by Gettys, is an adaptive reuse property that utilizes green materials throughout including: carpet with recycled content, low VOC paint and wall coverings, bamboo and cork flooring, and millwork that is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

The hotel also offers free parking for hybrid vehicles and has installed wind turbines on its roof to generate renewable energy.
