BOSTON—Hotel Commonwealth debuted major interior renovations with all 149 guestrooms refreshed and three new signature luxury suites highlighting the city’s punk music past, modern art lifestyle and Boston University’s school spirit.
Guestrooms were designed by New York-based dash designs.
The renovation is the first stage in an overall expansion for Hotel Commonwealth, which will be completed in 2015. It will add 96 guestrooms, a designated Fenway Park Suite, two additional suites with Fenway-facing balconies, 6,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and 2,000 sq. ft. of outdoor space overlooking the Fenway neighborhood.
“We’re excited to celebrate the first-phase completion of our new upgrades, full of meaningful touches showcasing our unique Kenmore Square neighborhood and designed to further enhance our renowned guest experience for Boston visitors,” stated Adam Sperling, general manager of Hotel Commonwealth. “We are in the initial stages of construction on the new building and we look forward to unveiling the final product in fall 2015.”
Working with architect Group One Partners and dash design, Hotel Commonwealth’s expansion will extend the existing building over the parking lot at the rear of the hotel facing Fenway Park. An enclosed footbridge connecting the current and new building will lead guests to the expanded space.
