Hollywood Bed acquires Linwood Hospitality

COMMERCE, CA—Hollywood Bed & Spring Mfg. Co. Inc., based here, has acquired the Linwood Hospitality division from Leggett & Platt Incorporated to become a leading supplier of bedding support products to the hospitality and contract markets.

“The acquisition will allow the company to utilize the Linwood factory in North Carolina to leverage its extensive product line and manufacturing capabilities,” said Larry Leeb, Hollywood Bed’s chief revenue officer.

Jason Harrow, president, Hollywood Bed, who Leeb called “the driving force in the negotiations” added, “The combination of Hollywood Bed and Linwood Hospitality will benefit existing and new customers with an increased product portfolio and both West and East Coast distribution centers.”

Hollywood Bed is a full-service manufacturer and distributor of bedding support products including bed bases, platform bases, bed frames, portable beds, bunk springs, daybed hardware and accessories. Larry Harrow, son of founders Irving and Hannah Harrow, is chairman/CEO.

“The company has established long-term partnerships with major worldwide hotel brands; purchasing and management companies; architectural and interior design firms; large national retailers; and the U.S. Armed Forces,” said Leeb. “In addition to our products, unsurpassed personalized customer service is the hallmark of the company. Hollywood Bed embraces the philosophy that when it’s good, it’s not good enough and when it’s outstanding, it needs to be improved upon.”

Linwood Hospitality was a provider of bedding, flooring, seating and window products. Its facility will now only serve as Hollywood Bed’s East Coast manufacturing and distribution center.

As a result of the acquisition, Leeb has assumed the role of chief revenue officer, after formerly serving as VP of sales & marketing, hospitality division. He will report to Harrow. The other executive role change was Phillip Herrin moving from VP of business development, home furnishings division, to VP of sales & marketing, hospitality and contract division. Jonathan Mullinax, VP of sales & marketing, home furnishings division, will continue in his role. Both Herrin and Mullinax will report to Leeb.

“The acquisition increases Hollywood Bed’s leading share in the hospitality and contract markets,” said Leeb. “The need to implement strategic plans and programs to maximize and sustain sales growth required organization changes to strengthen the company’s long-term future.”

Leeb also pointed out that the company is nearing the completion of its new headquarters here, which will bring the total square footage of manufacturing and warehouse to more than 200,000 sq. ft.—100,000-plus sq. ft. on each coast.
