MCLEAN, VA— Hilton has opened its 100th hotel in Latin America in Rio de Janeiro. The 545-guestroom beachfront Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana is now one of the largest hotels in the Copacabana neighborhood, one of Brazil’s most visited destinations. It is Hilton’s second property in the city.
There are now 17,000 guestrooms in Latin America across nine brands. A pipeline of 70 more hotels is in the works.
Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana is centrally located with easy access to the city’s two airports and is near many tourist destinations.
The beachfront hotel was built in 1975 and was renovated in 2011. It features many amenities including a pool with 360-degree views of Copacabana Beach, Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf.
Hilton plans to open 20 properties spanning Latin America in 2017, including hotels in Belize, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru and Uruguay and more than 10 openings in Mexico.
