ATLANTA—Paramount Hospitality Management has signed a deal for a new seven-story, 112-room Hilton Garden Inn at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. The $16-million project is the adaptive re-use of an existing building that has been vacant since 2006, and is expected to open in mid-2013.
Construction is scheduled to begin this summer, with the finished hotel featuring 2,500 sq. ft. of meeting and function space, a breakfast area, a full-service restaurant and lounge, a fitness center and two levels of underground parking.
Located on a high-traffic site adjacent to the university and near two major medical facilities, the hotel will be a part of the Cumberland Avenue Improvement Project, which is revitalizing the area’s residential neighborhood and commercial district.
