Hervé Houdré Opens Sustainability Consulting Firm

NEW YORK—Hervé Houdré has launched H2 Sustainability Consulting.

With a passion for sustainable development and 40 years of experience in luxury hospitality, his focus is to help the hospitality industry and beyond to conceive, integrate and implement pertinent and profitable sustainability strategies—aligned to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development goals—in their economic model.

In his career, Houdré has held leadership roles at the Plaza Athénée-New York, Hôtel de Crillon-Paris, Plaza Athénée-Paris, Kempinski Hotels & Resorts, Willard InterContinental-Washington D.C. and InterContinental Barclay-New York. During this time, Houdré became a strong advocate of sustainable hospitality, combining the skills of a global professional with the experience of an operator.

Houdré noted that he has the ability to “implement the objectives, strategies and tactics of a triple bottom line approach to profit, people, and the planet—at a company and unit level.”

H2 Sustainability Consulting offers tourism-focused organizations, that may not have sufficient internal resources, the opportunity to outsource the research, development and deployment of an appropriate sustainability strategy that proves to be cost-saving and revenue enhancing as it attracts like-minded corporations and potential customers.

Houdré also has been engaged in the local community where he held board positions and operated sustainability committees in various organizations such as The Leading Hotels of the World, New York State Hotel Association, United Nations International School, American Hotel & Lodging Association, and more. He was the chairman of the board of the Hotel Association of New York City and currently serves on the board and executive committee of NYC & Company where he chairs the sustainability committee.
