PHOENIX—Choice Hotels International, Inc. and O’Reilly Hospitality Management, LLC have broken ground on the first Cambria Suites in the Phoenix market.
The four-story, 121-room Cambria Suites Phoenix-Desert Ridge will also be home to the brand’s national training kitchen and newly crafted banquet and event menus, both overseen by Chef Michael DeMaria. A 2002 inductee into the Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame, DeMaria will create cuisine for all Cambria Suites core and urban core a la carte menus, approve all local and regional additions to individual property menus, lead the instruction of future Cambria Suites’ culinary teams and manage the revitalized banquet and events culinary program.
“This hotel is going to have a lot of catering space,” said Stephen P. Joyce, president/CEO, Choice Hotels international, at the groundbreaking. “We think we’re building a new full-service hotel. We think this is what customers want; we think this fulfills most of their needs, and we’re very excited about where this brand goes going forward.”
All Cambria Suites are new-construction properties with fitness centers, pools, a 24-7 shop and a dining area.
The hotel will be located near to Desert Ridge Marketplace, as well as the Mayo Clinic and Choice Hotels International Western Corporate Headquarters.
